The Other End Of The Line

Bestman's Toast to the groom during the Reception of the Wedding:

When my bestfriend and I are just 14 years old, and we were in this camp, during one night, we decided to sneak in at the Girl's Camp which is at the other side of the lake. When I saw the lake, I suddenly gave so many reasons why I can't cross the river. I chickened out. I wasn't finished yet with my list of reasons but my bestfriend has crossed the river already. And when he came back, he told me, he met a girl. And he said, he already found the girl he wanna marry.

10 years from now, that girl he met is now his wife. Because he was not afraid, because he took risk, because he crossed the river, he is now very much happy.

This is a scene from the movie The Other End Of The Line, which stars Jesse Metcalfe (who is just so gorgeous) and Shriya Saran. It's a story of two people from two countries, two cultures but one chance of love. I liked the movie. It was simple, it was touching, it was inspiring. There are so many scenes where I can say naka-relate ako.

The story is about a girl who is working in a call center in India but servicing people from the states. She works for a credit card account where he had this customer (Jesse) getting fraudulent transactions in his card. That is where all it began. Until Shriya googled Jesse and found out that Jesse is a total bachelor and simply hot and good looking.

Until one day, when their communication became constant, Jesse invited Shriya to meet up knowing that she's from San Francisco where he will have a business meeting. He decided to meet up while he's in the city. Shriya who is being forced to engage with another Indian (Indian Wedding Tradition), decided to fly to San Francisco for 2 days to try her luck and experience freedom and new culture. And of course, to meet Jesse.

Anyways, I'm not here to tell the whole story. Hehe. But if you are working in a call center, or someone who loves adventure, romance, or just want to relax and watch a feel-good movie, go and see this movie. It's very light and ends it by leaving a smile in your face. Siyempre, si TL, madami na namang realization.

This in fact was my motivation to finally see Mystery Guy. It pushed me to take some risk. People who are close to me knows I'm a risk-taker. Either natutuwa yung iba or hina-high blood pag sinusumpong ako nang ganito kong ugali. Hehe. Ewan ko ba, basta when my gut tells me to do things, ginagawa ko talaga. Like Shriya who flew all away from Mumbai. So far, it has given me the best experiences of my life. No regrets.

In love, you really have to take risks. Sabi nga sa movie, if you want bigger rewards, you have to take big risks. If you're afraid, you'll end up with nothing. Actually, not only in love, but also in career. If you won't do anything, nothing will happen. You will get stuck. Mapa-career pa yan, o relationship or marriage, walang mangyayari kung wala kang gagawin.

Love is a chance. And you will never know until it hits you. The kind of love I'm talking about is not something you can see or get in your daily life (when you are single). You'll never know when it will come, when you will feel, etc. But when that time comes that the arrow of cupid hits you, that's it. Dive in. Love will never lead you to the wrong road. Cross that river no matter what it takes!!!

I have never thought I would fall for someone in the most strange situation. I can say that Mystery Guy is someone I have wanted in my life before. And now, he's finally here.

I've always wanted to meet the guy that is different from me. Someone who can show me the other side of the world. Learn new things, hear new experiences, and enjoy the most colorful side of the world. Go watch the movie and get inspired. Look what it did to me. It paved the way for me towards the Lovers Lane. In this crazy times, it's still best to find happiness from someone who loves you back...
