The Idol Factor

For some reason, ngayon ko lang napanood ang video namin ni Drey for the duet of "I Want To Spend My Lifetime Loving You" that we did July of last year in W Idol. This video was taken by Kumander, and yes, ngayon lang namin napanood. Saya di ba. One year in the making. Hehe. It was funnee watching it. Seeing yourself a year ago. Funnee talaga. In fairness, pretty ni Drey sa video.


This duet was done in the spirit of supporting her in the contest. She was one of the contestants and that week was the "Duet Week" with any leader of the company. Siyempre, I did it to support her kahit na matagal na akong di kumakanta. Funnee pa how we rehearsed. We went to Festival Mall the day before the performance night para maghanap nang videoke booth at doon maghanap nang kakantahin and mag-practice at the same time. Ang resourceful namin noh. Hehe.


There were few proteges who came with us to serve as an audience and to help us pick the song. After shift na yun kaya medyo pagod pagod na, but we had no choice but to do it so we can have our piece. We ended up choosing "Seperate Lives" and "I Want To Spend My Lifetime Loving You". And yun na nga, the final decision was to sing the second option. And here's how it went...



Natatawa talaga akong panoorin ang sarili ko. Haha.


Magsisimula na ulit ang W Idol for this year. Our GPTW team is finalizing the plan. I'm thinking of Ash or Val to send out for the audition, at sana may makapasok. Hehe. I remember on last year's W Idol, I was asked to do an opening number for the Grand Debut of the said contest. Impromptu ang nangyari. I was told the day itself, mga ilang oras na lang bago magsimula. Hassle!


And ending, napakanta ako nang "How Did You Know" na version ni Gary V. kasi yun lang yung alam kong kanta sa disc na binigay sa akin. Impromptu kung impromptu. Kumanta akong may lyrics na hawak sa kamay. Hehe. I will never forget that...
