The Reader

I've seen this movie sometime last week. Drey had me borrowed this DVD and gave me an initial warning, or should I say she set an expectation that I'd be seeing naked bodies in this movie. I actually heard some buzz about this movie before, but I had no chance of buying a copy and see it. And last week, I finally had a chance. And Drey was right, there were a lot of naked Kate Winslet and young guy David Kross.

I somehow liked the film. Surprisingly, I didn't expect I will actually like it. It was not a Nazi film by it's looks but the story discusses the topic very extensively and with a nice angle to it. A young boy falls in love with an older woman in the post-war Germany, and later finds out the woman, played by Kate Winslet, had been a female officer in a concentration camp.

The Reader’s biggest achievement doesn’t come from the story, which is good but doesn’t deliver in the end, but from the actors who did an amazing job, obviously led by the Oscar-winning role by Winslet as a MILF-like hot Hanna Schmitz, who’s falling slowly apart and fucking a young boy, played by David Kross, both physically and mentally.

This one wasn’t half bad, and even had some hot sex scenes, which is something that’s lacking from almost every other Nazi film. David had even a scene where he flashed his "dingdong". And boy, he is gifted. Hehe. And funny how reading a book first before having sex became a must for Winslet on that film. Funnee one. Ralph Fiennes role was the older David by the way.

Love really knows no age. It tickled me when the boy asked Winslet if she loves him, and she answered him with a nod, which means yes. That scene was well done. I commend the director of this film, but most especially the actors. They've done it so well, captivating the viewers even if the story is somehow sublime. All in all, I recommend this film to anyone who loves watching movies at home. Go check it out!!!
